Cindy: ”I think I did. During a conversation about our Australia trip and HYROX, we realised how many things in our lives were connected to Australia. It honestly felt like the universe was pointing us there hehe.”

Bayle: ”Cindy HAHAHA, we were talking about travel, guys, and all our delusional dreams. I remember thinking, “this is so delulu but okay, one can dream.” Then she said, “likewise, delulu duo.” And that was it, no turning back after that haha.”

TELL US ABOUT A RACE WHERE THE PLAN TOTALLY FELL APART. WHAT DID YOU DO IN THE MOMENT?

Cindy: \"My first HYROX race humbled me. I was cramping and getting overtaken, but I kept telling myself: one more step. My team was waiting, and I knew I was stronger than that moment.”

Bayle: ”I wasn’t at my best going into Taipei after recovering from sickness. Cindy took on a bigger share of the workload than we had planned, and that support meant everything.”
\n

\n\nWHEN ONE OF YOU IS MENTALLY SLIPPING, WHAT’S THE CUE OR PHRASE THAT RESETS THE TEAM?\n

Cindy: “‘Go one more!’ is our favorite phrase, inspired by Lucy Davis hehe. And in Taipei, I also said ‘I need you’, which made me realize how much strength comes from teamwork.”

Bayle: “If one of us is mentally slipping, I just say “DIG DEEP.” It’s nothing complicated, but somehow it brings us straight back to why we started.”

\nWHO/WHAT CHALLENGED YOU THE MOST MENTALLY THIS YEAR — A COMPETITOR, A STANDARD, OR YOURSELVES?

Cindy: ”Myself. I’m my own biggest challenge because I put a lot of pressure on myself. People expect me to do well in HYROX, but it still scares me lowkey.”

Bayle: ”Definitely myself, and that fear of being mediocre in everything I choose to do whenever I enter something new.”

Cindy: ”I think it’s my diet. People often ask if I control it, but the short answer is NO.”

Bayle: ”I’m a deeply reflective person. I tend to analyze my sessions, my emotions and what I’m going through a lot, always seeking improvement. But I’m also learning to accept where I am right now and where I want to be.”
